Managing Conflicts and Preventing Crises in the Family

Series 2
The goal of this series is to help parents understand the underlying causes of family conflict and crisis, including their role in creating and resolving conflict with adolescent children. Also, they will learn about the long-term effects of unresolved conflicts and how these can manifest negatively in adolescent behaviors and academic failure or success. Parents will discuss techniques to improve family communication, decision making, and emotional intelligence to help teens create a realistic future plan for themselves.

Risk Behaviors in Adolescents
Parents will learn about the risks their children are exposed to such as violence, drug use, alcohol, unprotected sex, and responsibility.

Adolescent Discipline
In this workshop we provide parents information on parenting styles for them to understand that many of children's actions are because parents are applying a parenting style that is not appropriate, such as being very authoritarian, incoherent, absent, very accommodating all of which can lead to losing authority.

How Family Conflicts Affect Adolescents
Family conflicts that are not managed adequately generate demotivation, stress, and a negative perspective towards life.

Adolescence, Their Fears and Pressures of Today
Parents will understand the pressures adolescents face today and the most common mental health illnesses; The causes, symptoms and how to prevent them.

Expressing Emotions and Feelings
Parents will learn about emotions and their importance in interacting with their adolescents. It is important for teenagers to express their emotions to relieve stress and avoid anxiety, depression.

Adolescent Self-Esteem
It is important for an adolescent to have confidence and self-assurance. Therefore, in this workshop parents will learn strategies to help their children focus more on their abilities and virtues to create in them a sense personal worth and resilience.

Motivation for the Success of the Adolescent
In this session, parents will learn strategies to motivate their children to continue on their path to academic success despite the difficulties they encounter along the way. A motivated adolescent will be prepared for what they may to face and will always look for a way out even with difficulties.

Adolescents and Decision Making
Everyday adolescents must make decisions, in this workshop parents will learn how to help their children make good decisions. Adolescents tend to be reactive and rational; a future of success or failure will depend on their decision-making.
